Continuing Education

IASP, in joint providership with the Annenberg Center for Health Sciences at Eisenhower, will offer Continuing Medical Education (CME)/ Continuing Education (CE) certification/accreditation to basic scientists, physicians, psychologists, dentists, nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, pharmacists, and other health professionals. The CE/CME fee allows delegates to earn CE/CME credits for the following Congress activities: Refresher Courses, Plenary Lectures, Hands-on Practical Workshops, and Topical Workshops.

CE certificates are now available! To receive credit, attendees must submit an evaluation for each session and submit evaluation for the overall Congress.

There is still time to add continuing education to your Congress registration.  As many as 26 CE credits are available for attendance at Refresher Courses, Plenary Lectures, Hands-on Workshops, and Topical Workshops. Use the link below to login to your Congress registration account and purchase Continuing Education credit.  Deadline to purchase is October 31.

Certificates

To receive your Statement of Credit, you must complete the online evaluation provided to all delegates after the Congress.  Upon completion of the evalutation you will be able to download your statement outlining the credits earned as tracked by the RFID badge scan system. To receive credit for each session you attend, you must participate in at least 50% of that session.

To complete your evaluations and download the certificate:

  1. Login. You will need your registration ID and email address.
  2. Select the appropriate credit type.
  3. Complete the Conference Evaluation.
  4. Complete the session evaluation for each session.
  5. Download CE certificate.

General Information

The maximum number of CE/CME credits available will be 26 ( Refresher Courses,  Plenary Lectures, Topical Workshops, and Hands-on Practical Workshops.

Please note that IASP will not offer accreditation for Satellite Symposia or Industry Symposia. Please contact organizers of those activities regarding accreditation of those sessions.

Target Audience
This is a multidisciplinary meeting of interest to basic scientists, physicians, psychologists, dentists, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, and other health professionals who work in the research or clinical aspects of pain.

Needs Statement
With emerging educational and scientific advances, the study of pain identifies where patient care standards can change very quickly. Due to the high volume of literature and best practice information available, it is important that practitioners entering the fields of pain research synthesize the latest evidence based information applicable to their practice/research setting.

This activity will help those just entering the fields of pain research and treatment. In addition, it will benefit professionals interested in updating their skills, as well as learning about promising research and practice changing treatment advances.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will do the following:

  • Integrate state-of-the-art pain management skills for acute, chronic, and cancer pain
  • Discuss current research and therapies in these areas
  • Evaluate international expert opinion and its application to practice

The portions of this meeting designated for continuing education credit by the Annenberg Center include the Refresher Courses, Plenary Lectures, and Topical Workshops.
